(Woman) Mark, I've just finished reviewing the preliminary figures for the fiscal year-end report, and frankly, the overhead costs associated with our logistics department are quite concerning. They've surged by nearly fifteen percent.
(Man) I share your concern, Linda. We’ve had to contend with fluctuating fuel prices and that unexpected warehouse lease renewal. However, I’ve been drafting a proposal to digitize our inventory tracking, which should mitigate these inefficiencies over the long term.
(Woman) That sounds promising, but the Board is expecting immediate fiscal tightening. Could we perhaps renegotiate the regional distribution contracts instead of wait-and-see for technological ROI?
(Man) It's worth a shot, though those agreements were just finalized last quarter. Let me look over the termination clauses before we approach the vendors. I wouldn't want us to incur heavy penalties just to shave a few points off our operating expenses now.
