Mark,
I'm writing to provide an update on the Alpha Project. Unfortunately, we're facing a significant setback.
The core development team was due to start integration testing on Monday, but they were unable to access the main server room due to ongoing maintenance.
It turns out the maintenance was a last-minute scheduling change related to the initial phase oversight of the office renovation notice. This has pushed our integration testing timeline back by at least three days. I've been in touch with Facilities, and they assure me the access issue will be resolved by tomorrow evening, but the ripple effect on our schedule is considerable.
I'll send a revised timeline proposal by end of day Friday.
Best,
Sarah

Sarah,
Thanks for the update. This is concerning. Can you elaborate on how the office renovation notice issue directly impacted server room access? I need to understand the chain of events to explain this to senior management.
Also, what are the immediate steps being taken to mitigate further delays? We can't afford to slip further on this critical project.
Regards,
Mark

Mark,
Apologies for the lack of detail. The office renovation notice was initially misfiled, leading to a delay in its distribution. Consequently, the Facilities team had to scramble to coordinate essential groundwork, which unfortunately included preemptive structural checks in the server area. This resulted in the unexpected closure and restricted access, directly blocking the development team's planned integration testing.
To mitigate, I've authorized overtime for the testing team starting Saturday, and we're exploring cloud-based simulation environments as a temporary measure. I expect these steps will help recover at least two of the lost days.
Again, apologies for the inconvenience.
Best,
Sarah
